Localizing 'Hands On' in Asia

Centre for Environment Education (CEE) is the national partner involved in localizing the Hands On programmes in India.
" Programmes selected after an intensive process to choose programmes most relevant to India.
" 33 programmes versioned into Hindi
" 10 each into Telugu and Malayalam.
" Local langauge version of print packs with local information available.

'Hands On' is a series, which highlights good news stories, factual, well researched, tried and tested. These 5-minute capsules showcase technologies and processes helping communities and entrepreneurs around the world to develop more sustainable lifestyles, practices and businesses.

CEE has localized 50 'Hands On' (HO) programmes in three Indian languages - 33 in Hindi, Malayalam and Telugu. The programmes have been localized so that local information related to best practices from other countries shown in the programmes, is available to encourage and inspire the adoption of locally relevant and affordable best practices at community, enterprise, local government, industry or national levels, to positively influence the choices, policies and practices that will contribute towards environmentally and socially sustainable development, inspire documentation of local best practices in the same manner as those brought in from other countries.
